When I first saw the Benefit Parisian Pin-Up set, I thought it looked really cute, so made a cheeky little purchase. Did I need any more mini products? No, but sometimes you need to treat yourself.
Housed inside a lovely rose gold makeup bag, the set contains 4 travel-sized Benefit products. Admittedly there was one product in particular that swayed my decision in buying this, the Gold Rush blusher, but all of the products inside are great. At £28.50, this is nice and affordable and would make a really lovely gift for a sister or a friend.
I own most of the Benefit blushers, but hadn’t tried Gold Rush yet. When it was first released I knew I wanted to try it, and it hasn’t disappointed.
Gold Rush is the most beautiful warm golden-nectar shade that is embossed with a gold overlay. The blush is also infused with flecks of gold, so for me, this is more of a blush / highlighter and I love it. In the summer months I like bronzed golden looks so this will be perfect for that. It also has a lovely scent of citrus, vanilla and sandalwood. Considering that this is a ‘mini’, it’s still a good size and will hopefully see me through the warmer weather.
Next up, we have quite possibly the smallest version of Ka-BROW! that I’ve ever seen. I do have the full-size but always forget that I have it and don’t reach for it much.
It’s a cream-gel brow product (in shade 3 Medium), that is buildable depending on whether you want natural brows or something more dramatic. It fills, sculpts and defines brows and I’ve enjoyed using this again. It will never be my go to for my brows, but the small size makes it handy to keep in my bag. There’s also a small hard-angled brush to allow you to have precise control over the product.
BADgal Bang! has been one of my more recent discoveries (I’m so behind the rest of the world) and I love it, so having another makes me happy.
This gives me such long, dramatic lashes, and you can build it up easily to add more volume. It is easy to go too far with it though and end up with spider lashes so know when to stop. It promises 36 hour wear and is nice and light thanks to aero particles. It’s also smudge-proof and waterproof and I can confirm this as I got drenched at the Spice Girls, but my mascara stayed pretty much perfect all night.
Finally there’s High Beam … again this is just a mini, but a little goes a long way so this should last a while.
I used to use High Beam religiously – it was my first ever liquid highlighter and I was crazy for that pretty satin pink glow. As other liquid highlighters were launched I admit I forgot about High Beam but the love affair has been rekindled. It gives a gorgeous dewy finish and I like to use it under and over my base products.
