I don’t tend to do 2 skincare reviews in a row, but I’ve been using these beauties from Erborian as primers instead of moisturisers, so you’ll have to forgive me this once.
There are times when I feel like the only blogger not on board the whole Korean beauty hype, but I have to admit that I’ve definitely been won over by these Bamboo Moisturisers.
Erborian combine traditional ingredients with sophisticated technology to create their products and they might just be the one brand to sway me over to the hype.
Even though these two products are designed as moisturisers, they work perfectly as a makeup base and it’s in that capacity that I’ve found the most beneficial, although there are some days that I’ll wear one of these on their own and have also enjoyed them.
Mattifying products don’t tend to be something that I reach for all that often as I’m all about the glow, but in the interest of research (and due to just how bloody hot it has been), I’ve used this quite a lot.
The Erborian Bamboo Matte Moisturiser gives you the ideal base for your makeup if your skin tends to be a bit oily, or you just really want a matte base. It’s a 2-1-in-1 hybrid product (there goes that technology), and it leaves your skin hydrated but with a gorgeous matte finish.
It’s not a rich heavy cream, it’s actually quite fine and transforms into a powder like feel on the skin, which I really like. One of the things I don’t like about some matte product is that they can feel heavy on my skin, but this doesn’t at all – it’s actually amazing!
The Matte Moisturiser contains a Bamboo Watercock Complex that protects the skin’s barrier and prevents it from drying out, and Bamboo Powder to work as a natural mattifier so your skin is shine-free. With the heat, my skin has had more shine than normal, and this has worked like a dream to reduce that and leave me with a great base for the minimal makeup that I’ve been wearing. What has really surprised me is how hydrated it also leaves your skin feeling – you don’t really expect it at first, but it is so nice.
It also has blurring properties so any minor blemishes will appear blurred and your complexion will look nice and fresh. As if that wasn’t enough, it helps to reduce signs of fatigue and leaves your skin looking and feeling smoother. I’m so surprised by how much I love this, but you all need to try it.
Now when I first saw the Erborian Bamboo Glow Moisturiser, I knew we were going to get along. 9 times out of 10 I will opt for a product that gives me a glowy complexion, so this has my name written all over it.
Again I have been using this primarily as a primer and it gives such a nice radiant finish to the skin. When used with a tinted moisturiser, you get such a natural glow to the skin.
It illuminates the skin and gives it a gorgeous freshness that makes you look healthy and hydrated. It feels gorgeous on the skin and you’re left with a wonderful silky finish. I’ve been preferring minimal and natural makeup recently, and this has been a joy to use. My skin has looked bright and healthy without having to use a lot of products to try and fake it.
I love the fact that it almost plumps the skin whilst leaving it feeling moisturised – there have even been some days where this is all that I’ve used and my skin has looked really good.
If you like a glowy base, or even want to use this as a moisturiser, then you’re going to love this with a passion.
Erborian have definitely made me think twice about Korean skincare.
