I am a huge Jo Malone fan, and now I’ve decided to get Mick on the bandwagon. I’d given him a mini bottle of the Oud & Bergamot Cologne Intense last year and he loved it, so I took the plunge for his recent birthday and got him a couple of treats.
I also got him a bottle of the English Oak & Hazelnut, as he kept smelling mine. The way I see it, is if Mick loves Jo Malone then he won’t be mad when I keep buying it! I already had the Oud & Bergamot Dry Body Oil, but I decided to get Mick the cologne and the accompanying candle.
Precious oud, reframed. The mysterious smoky
character of this revered wood, central to
Middle Eastern fragrance traditions, radiates with
the clarity of crisp bergamot and orange.
Oud & Bergamot Cologne 50ml – £75.00
I’m a big lover of the Cologne Intense range and now Mick is too. Whilst Oud & Bergamot isn’t marketed as a ‘male’ scent, and is unisex, it does work well as a cologne for the man in your life as it’s so rich and deep.
Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot was launched back in 2010 and was created by the perfumer Christine Nagel. The thing I really love about the Jo Malone colognes is that they are timeless – there are no gimmicks and they stand the test of time.
The scent is woody with a hint of spice which I presume comes from the Oud and the Cedar, with an underlying hint of citrus. The oud and the bergamot are the more noticeable notes, but you do pick up on the others throughout the day. The wear time is around 5 hours before you need to reapply, but traces of the scent do linger for much longer. The great thing is that this will also combine perfectly with the English Oak & Hazelnut that I also bought Mick.
The candle is gorgeous too and fills the room beautifully, and I’ve loved the Body Oil for a long time as it leaves my skin feeling nourished, soft and with a nice hint of fragrance to it.
The Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot range is available from counters and the Jo Malone website.
