Cleaning your makeup brushes is a pain in the arse, especially when you’re like me and have a ridiculous amount of brushes. Thankfully the stylPro Original Brush Cleaner makes this mind-numbing task a whole lot quicker and easier.
The brain child of The Apprentice winner Tom Pellereau, stylPro uses centrifugal technology to clean and dry (yes really!) your brushes in less than 30 seconds. I’m one of those people who will wait until every brush is dirty before I wash them, but with this I can quickly clean them after use. Admittedly I don’t do this every time, but I have been giving them a quick clean after a couple of uses.
The stylPro is super simple to used really does make washing your brushes a quick and painless process. You get a Tritan unbreakable bowl, which comes with a neck, so if you knock it over, the liquid will be caught in the neck … I discovered this the hard way as I’m so clumsy at the moment. You have the stylPro device and then 8 flexible silicone collars on a stand.
You decide which collar fits the brush that you are wanting to clean and attach it to the end of the stylPro device. With there being 8 different sized collars the chances are you’ll find one to fit. The only ones I struggle with are really thin brushes and Real Techniques brushes – they just don’t seem to want to fit any of the collars well.
To clean the brushes, you don’t need water, just a bit of brush cleaner. I’ve been using the stylPro Vegan cleanser which works really well. Just put a bit in the bottom of the bowl, put the brush (in the stylPro device) into the cleanser and turn it on. The brush will spin around in the cleanser. If the brush isn’t too dirty you only need about 15 seconds, but if there’s a build up of product then keep it in for longer. Then you take the brush out of the cleanser and let it continue to spin in order to dry the brush. It’s that simple. Within 30 seconds you’ve got a clean and dry brush. If you’re a makeup artist then this would help you so much as you could have your brushes cleansed quickly in between clients.
